Shuen no Majo to Sekai

The serialization of Tonchi Kataoka’s manga, “Shūen no Majo to Sekai no Tabi” (The witch of the end and the world journey), is set to conclude next month.

The final chapter will be featured in the March issue of Kodansha’s “Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine”, which is scheduled for release on February 9.

The announcement confirming the series’ end came via the magazine’s current February issue.

The manga began its run in the same magazine in August 2024, giving the series a short but impactful debut period.

“Shūen no Majo to Sekai no Tabi” tells the story of Elena Morgana, a figure infamous as the world’s most evil witch.

The narrative begins during a prolonged conflict between the demon king’s army and the last remnants of humanity.

Elena successfully tracks down humanity to deliver the final blow. However, her formidable magic fails her at the ultimate moment.

She swears a dramatic oath to return and finally destroy them all, but her resolve is unexpectedly shattered when she encounters a kind-hearted villager named Taro.

This surprising interaction changes the evil witch’s perspective, prompting her to forsake her destructive mission and begin a new quest: a personal journey to save the very humanity she once sought to eradicate.

The fantasy series has seen a relatively quick release schedule since its launch last year.

Tonchi Kataoka debuted the manga in “Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine” and Kodansha previously shipped the third compiled book volume of the series in September.

In addition to this current work, the artist is also known for the four-volume series “How to Train Your Devil”.

That manga was originally published by Mag Garden, launching on their “Mag Comi” website in December 2017, and concluded with the release of its fourth volume in February 2020.

The complete four-volume series has been made available to English-speaking audiences through Seven Seas Entertainment.
