Explore Ghibli Park at night – first-ever evening openings announced

Ghibli Park, the enchanting theme park inspired by the works of Studio Ghibli, has announced that visitors will soon be able to enjoy the park during the evening.
The park will make a change to its operating hours for three select dates in August 2025, which will see it open during the evening for the first time ever.

Opening hours will be extended until 8:00 PM JST on Saturday, August 2nd, August 9th, and August 16th, offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience the park’s unique atmosphere under the evening sky.
Typically, Ghibli Park operates from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM JST on weekdays and from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM JST on weekends and public holidays.

During the extended evening hours, guests will be limited to three areas of the park: Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse, Mononoke Village, and the Valley of Witches.
Studio Ghibli, co-founded by Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata, has won global acclaim for its animated masterpieces such as “My Neighbor Totoro”, “Spirited Away” and “Princess Mononoke.”

Ghibli Park is located within the Aichi Expo Memorial Park and brings these fantastical worlds to life through immersive environments rather than traditional amusement park rides.
The extended hours coincide with the “Aichi Expo 20 Festival” event “Night Fantasy” being held at the Aichi Expo Memorial Park.
The “Night Fantasy” event will be held on weekends and holidays between August 2nd and August 17th.

This event will feature various evening attractions, including traditional Bon Odori dances and drone shows.
Ghibli Park is encouraging guests to visit the “Night Fantasy” event as part of their evening at the park.
The announcement of this new summer evening event follows the end of Ghibli Park’s recent “Haru Matsuri” Spring Festival which ran throughout March and April and formed part of the celebrations for the parks first anniversary.
Tickets for Ghibli Park remain reservation-only and tickets for August admissions, including these newly announced evening hours, will go on sale starting from Tuesday, June 10th at 2:00 PM JST.
Tickets can be purchased via the park’s official ticketing website.
While Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse, Mononoke Village, and the Valley of Witches will enjoy extended hours, two other popular areas within the park, Seishun-no-Oka (Hill of Youth) and Dondoko-Mori (Dondoko Forest), will maintain their usual closing time of 5:00 PM JST, with last admission at 4:30 PM JST.

For the dates within extended evening hours, special “Ghibli Park Grand Walking Ticket Premium” and “Ghibli Park Grand Walking Ticket Standard” tickets will be available for entry into Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse at 4:00 PM JST and 5:00 PM JST.

Visitors holding these specific tickets are required to enter Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse within one hour of their selected admission time and must enter Mononoke Village and Valley of Witches by 7:30 PM JST.
It’s important to note that on these special dates, guests intending to visit the Valley of Witches and Mononoke Village earlier in the day should secure tickets for the morning (9:00 AM – 1:00 PM JST) or afternoon (1:00 PM – 4:30 PM JST) admission slots and ensure entry into Mononoke Village before 4:30 PM JST.
