Evangelion teams up with Japan’s favorite corn snack Umaibo for tasty new collab

The globally acclaimed “Evangelion” anime franchise, a cultural phenomenon since its 1995 television debut, is joining forces with Japan’s beloved puffed corn snack, Umaibo, for a limited-edition collaboration.
“Evangelion,” known for its complex themes, iconic characters, and visually stunning animation, has been a firm fan favorite with audiences worldwide for decades.

The “Rebuild of Evangelion” tetralogy, culminating in “Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time”, brought the epic saga to a powerful conclusion, leaving a lasting impact on fans.
Umaibo, a cylindrical, puffed corn snack available in a vast array of flavors, has been a staple of Japanese snack culture for generations.

Its affordable price and wide availability have made it a national favorite, enjoyed by people of all ages.
This unexpected yet exciting collaboration brings together two iconic pillars of Japanese pop culture.
The “Shin Evangelion Umaibo” will come in a pack of 30, featuring three different package designs showcasing memorable scenes from “Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time.”

The packaging also shows the series’ characters redesigned in the style of Umaibo’s mascot, Umaemon.

Each pack will come with one randomly selected postcard featuring one of four unique designs and will be priced at 1,512 yen (tax included, approx. $10.39 USD/£7.82 GBP).

Pre-orders for this unique collaboration are currently open until July 25th at the official EVANGELION STORE, Animate stores across Japan, and through Movic’s online shop.
