Evangelion announces three new 30th anniversary music album releases
Three new albums of music have been announced to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the iconic anime series, Evangelion.
The new releases include a new album from the original theme song artist, Yoko Takahashi, two commemorative vinyl LPs, and a series of high-quality art prints.
The new album from Yoko Takahashi is titled “EVANGELION FLASHBACK.”
It will feature a collection of her famous songs from the series, including the legendary opening theme “A Cruel Angel’s Thesis” and “Soul’s Refrain,” as well as a newly recorded cover song, “Kyou no Hi wa Sayounara.”
The album’s jacket will feature an original animation cel that was used in the production of the 1995 anime’s opening sequence, provided with the cooperation of the Anime Tokusatsu Archive Centre.
In addition to the CD, two 30th-anniversary edition vinyl records will also be released.
The jacket art for both of these LPs will feature new, original illustrations drawn by the series’s own mecha designer, Ikuto Yamashita.

Finally, a series of “Chara-fine Graph,” a type of high-quality art print, will be released featuring illustrations of characters from the series by the original character designer, Yoshiyuki Sadamoto.
The Yoko Takahashi album is scheduled for release on the 29th of October, 2025, and it is priced at 3,850 yen.
Pre-orders for the Yoshiyuki Sadamoto art prints began on the 4th of August, with a release date of the 10th of December, 2025. Each art print is priced at 11,000 yen.
The two vinyl LPs, along with a new 30th anniversary commemorative record player, are scheduled for release on the 21st of February, 2026.
The vinyl LPs are priced at 3,300 yen for standard versions, while a first press limited edition color version will be available for 4,400 yen.
Pre-orders for all of these products are currently available on the King Amusement Creative online store operated by King Records.
