DECO*27’s viral Hatsune Miku song “Rabbit Hole” has been adapted into a light novel

A new light novel has been released, which is an official adaptation of the massively popular Hatsune Miku song “Rabbit Hole.”
The book was officially released on Monday, the 25th of August, under Kadokawa’s MF Bunko J light novel imprint.

“Rabbit Hole” is a hugely successful song written and composed by the acclaimed Vocaloid producer, DECO*27.

Since its release, the song has become a major viral hit on social media, with its music video surpassing 100 million views and its iconic bunny-girl Miku design, created by the illustrator Omutatsu, inspiring a massive wave of fan art and cosplay.
This new novelization expands the world of the music video into a full-length, coming-of-age story.
The book is written by the veteran light novel author Kenji Saitō, who is known for his work on the popular, anime-adapted series Trinity Seven.

The original creators of the song are also directly involved in the project.
DECO*27 served as the original creator and supervisor for the novel, while the music video’s original artist, Omutatsu, has provided the illustrations for the book, ensuring it faithfully captures the world of their original creation.

The story follows a junior high school girl named Miku who, for certain reasons, can no longer attend her classroom and spends her days in the nurse’s office.

One day, she discovers an online channel called “Rabbit Hole,” where a girl in a bunny suit teaches “how to become the strongest and most beautiful girl.”

After following the channel’s advice, Miku’s daily life begins to change for the better, but she soon discovers that the “Rabbit Hole” is hiding a major secret.
The “Rabbit Hole” light novel is priced at ¥814 (approx. $5.50 USD/£4 GBP) and is available from a range of popular book stores within Japan, including Amazon Japan.
