Danganronpa Inspired Puzzle Adventure Thief’s Roulette Confirms January 24 Release

The first-person puzzle adventure game Thief’s Roulette has confirmed its launch date for PC.
Developer hirogame announced that the game will be released on PC via Steam on January 24.

This date comes after the developer, hiromu656, confirmed on December 21, 2025, the decision to prioritize the PC launch in January 2026 following community feedback.
Thief’s Roulette is a choice-driven title that fuses a narrative focus, often seen in visual novels, with immersive, first-person puzzle gameplay.

The project draws direct inspiration from the popular Danganronpa and Zero Escape game series.
The game is published by Top Hat Studios and successfully funded its development through a Kickstarter campaign.

The game’s story begins when the player and 14 other individuals awaken in an unfamiliar location.
They are forced to compete in a deadly ordeal, dubbed “Lady Luck’s Challenges,” hosted by a mysterious woman.

Proclaiming the 15 contestants to be “thieves,” Lady Luck mandates they fight for their lives by completing a series of escape-room-style puzzles.
Core gameplay involves navigating fully explorable 3D escape rooms and solving a large variety of puzzles and obstacles.

The story of secrets and deception is driven by heavy player choices, which alter the path and determine who the player chooses to align with, leading to multiple endings.
A key mechanic involves the “Marking Roulette” at the end of each challenge, which randomly selects members of losing teams for death, emphasizing the game’s high stakes.

While the initial release will be on PC, the developers have stated plans to bring Thief’s Roulette to other platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita.
A playable demo for the game has been available since at least June 16, 2021, and was intended to introduce players to the mechanics and the first of the game’s seven Challenge Rooms.

Developer hiromu656 previously addressed delays in an August 16, 2025, update, confirming that the additional development time was used to add content and ensure the game met a higher quality standard.
