Crossbone Gundam’s Best MG Gunpla Kit Joins Premium Bandai’s Gundam Summer Festival
Image by Charlotte DavisThe MG 1/100 Crossbone Gundam X-1 Full Cloth has arrived back in stock at Premium Bandai US, with the heavily armed mobile suit from Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam: Steel 7 becoming one of the latest additions to its ongoing Gundam Summer Festival.
Piloted by Tobia Arronax, the Full Cloth builds on the already iconic Crossbone Gundam X-1 with additional armor surrounding the upper body and an expanded arsenal that makes this one of the most visually elaborate Crossbone Gunpla available in Master Grade form.
The Full Cloth is the defining feature of the kit, surrounding the shoulders and sides with large overlapping panels that considerably broaden the completed model’s silhouette while leaving the familiar Crossbone Gundam visible underneath.
Bandai has also incorporated an inner joint system around the shoulders to help the arms move around the additional armor, an important feature considering the size of the weapons included with the Full Cloth equipment.
Chief among those weapons is the Muramasa Blaster, an oversized sword-like armament with a row of clear beam effect parts running along its edge to recreate its activated saw-like appearance.
The Peacock Smasher provides an equally distinctive ranged option, with its multiple beam cannon sections able to spread outward for the weapon’s expanded firing configuration.
The kit also retains the Crossbone Gundam’s extensive standard arsenal, including the Zanbuster and its Beam Zanber and Buster Gun components, Beam Sabers, Heat Daggers, Screw Whips, and Brand Markers, giving builders plenty of options beyond the two signature Full Cloth weapons.
A detachable Core Fighter is built into the model as well, preserving one of the Crossbone Gundam’s most recognizable features and adding another display option alongside the mobile suit itself.
With the Full Cloth fitted, the four rear thrusters extended, and either the Muramasa Blaster or Peacock Smasher in hand, the finished kit has an unusually large presence for the comparatively compact Crossbone Gundam and offers plenty of display options.
The combination of layered armor, skull detailing, a detachable Core Fighter, and an unusually broad weapon selection makes the Full Cloth particularly appealing for builders who want a Crossbone Gundam that looks substantially different from the standard X-1 without moving away from its recognizable pirate-themed appearance.
Although the MG Crossbone Gundam X-1 Full Cloth is also distributed through regular hobby retailers, its 
restock comes at a useful time for anyone already planning a larger Gunpla order during the Gundam Summer Festival.
Premium Bandai US is offering free shipping on qualifying in-stock items and pre-orders totaling $99 or more during the promotion, making it worth considering the Full Cloth alongside another kit or release rather than ordering separately through a third-party retailer.
