Collect scenes from Ai Yazawa’s most iconic manga with Bandai’s latest card wafers

A new line of collectible cards has been announced, which will feature the artwork of the legendary and influential shōjo manga artist, Ai Yazawa.

The new cards will be sold by Bandai as part of a “shokugan” or “food toy” item, the “Ai Yazawa Twin Wafers,” that comes with two vanilla cream-flavored wafers and one metallic plastic card.

Ai Yazawa is one of the most famous and beloved manga creators of all time, the author of a string of classic, culture-defining series.

Her work is so popular that it regularly features in collaborations with popular brands, as seen with the recent official NANA jewelry collection produced by PLUS VENDOME.

This new card collection brings together the artwork from four of her most famous and popular works.

The four featured series are:

  • Tenshi Nanka ja Nai (I’m Not an Angel)

  • Gokinjo Monogatari (Neighborhood Story)

There are a total of 33 different, metallic plastic cards to collect in the series, including two secret, rare designs.

The cards feature a mix of beautiful, full-color illustrations by Yazawa, as well as reproductions of iconic manga panels that include famous and memorable quotes from each of the four series.

This new collection offers a nostalgic and comprehensive tribute to the works of the legendary artist.

The “Ai Yazawa Twin Wafers” are being sold exclusively in a 20-piece box set.

A single box is not guaranteed to contain a complete set of all 33 different cards.

The box set is priced at ¥3,960 (approx. $27 USD/£20 GBP).

Pre-orders for the new collection are currently open on the “Candy Online Shop” within the Premium Bandai website.

For those who pre-order, shipping is scheduled to commence in February 2026.
