Clear up imperfections with new ‘The Apothecary Diaries’ themed face lotion

The Apothecary Diaries is teaming up with a popular cosmetics company to release a collaboration version of a famous medicated face lotion.
Meishoku Cosmetics, a company renowned for its diverse range of beauty and skincare products, has announced the upcoming release of a special, limited-edition version of its enduringly popular “Beauty Water”, a medicated lotion known to help combat acne and other skin conditions.

“Beauty Water” boasts a rich and extensive history, having been cherished by customers for an impressive 139 years, dating back to the Meiji era in Japan.
This long-selling lotion, which has garnered considerable affection and loyalty from consumers since its initial introduction to the market in the year 1885, will now feature Maomao from the widely acclaimed and highly successful anime series, “The Apothecary Diaries”, on its packaging.
The packaging and labels of the collaborative bottles of “Beauty Water” will showcase an original illustration featuring Maomao holding a bottle of the product.

“Beauty Water” was originally conceived and developed as an effective acne care solution, born from the deep care and affection of the company’s founder, who was motivated by the desire to make his wife, who was troubled by acne, smile.
This medicated lotion effectively targets and treats acne through the synergistic effects of its two medicinal active ingredients: salicylic acid and homosulfamine.

The formulation of the lotion aids in the removal of old, dead skin cells that can become trapped and clogged within pores, thereby promoting cleaner and smoother skin texture.
Salicylic acid, one of the key active ingredients, plays a crucial role in softening and gently exfoliating the accumulated old keratin that can clog pores. Notably, it also works to improve the appearance of acne scars.

Homosulfamine, the other significant active ingredient, functions to inhibit the proliferation of acne-causing bacteria, ultimately leading to skin that is less susceptible to breakouts.
This versatile lotion is designed for use not only on the face but can also be applied to other areas of the body where acne concerns may arise, such as the back and chest.
The ‘The Apothecary Diaries’ themed bottles of “Beauty Water” will be sold in a 90ml bottle size only and will be priced at 900 Japanese yen (excluding tax, approx. $6.39 USD / £4.77 GBP).

It will be available to purchase at drug stores across Japan, as well as through online retailers such as Amazon, starting from Monday, April 21st, 2025.
The Apothecary Diaries is one of the most popular anime series of the year so far, with multiple other collaborations, such as themed attractions at Universal Studios Japan and a team up with a real-life pharmacy, also having been announced.
