BoxLunch Reveals New US-Exclusive Sailor Moon Mini Backpack

A new official Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon mini backpack has appeared for fans in the US that sees Super Sailor Moon surrounded by roses, embroidered flowers and pearl details across an exclusive new design from BoxLunch.

The “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Roses Mini Backpack with Coin Purse” combines printed character artwork with a decorative floral theme, giving the bag a softer fashion-focused appearance rather than building its design around one of Sailor Moon’s transformation items.

Created by Naoko Takeuchi, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon follows Usagi Tsukino after she discovers her identity as Sailor Moon and joins the other Sailor Guardians in protecting Earth from a succession of supernatural threats.

Super Sailor Moon represents one of Usagi’s upgraded transformations, first emerging during Sailor Moon S as her powers increase and later becoming an important part of her appearance throughout subsequent stories.

That upgraded form takes center stage on the new backpack, with an illustration of Super Sailor Moon printed prominently across the front and surrounded by embroidered flowers.

Pearl details are incorporated around the floral design, while iridescent accents add another reflective element that complements the pink, white and decorative styling surrounding Usagi.

The backpack includes two zippered compartments, providing a larger main storage area alongside a smaller front pocket for items that need to remain easier to reach.

A removable coin purse is also included with the bag, allowing it to be carried as part of the matching design or detached when it isn’t needed.

The backpack is made from polyurethane and measures approximately 22.9 cm wide, 24.1 cm tall and 12.7 cm deep, keeping it within the compact proportions typically associated with fashion-focused mini backpacks.

The new release joins an expanding selection of Sailor Moon accessories currently being offered directly to US fans, with Hot Topic recently adding a Cosmic Heart Compact hair pin and a five-piece bracelet set based on the Inner Sailor Guardians.

Those releases similarly turn familiar imagery from the series into accessories intended to work as part of an everyday outfit, rather than limiting Sailor Moon merchandise to figures and display collectibles.

Sailor Moon has also previously moved much further into high-end bags and fashion through its collaboration with Jimmy Choo, which included Diamond Tote bags, character-inspired footwear, a Luna crossbody bag and even an elaborate Luna-P Ball clutch covered with thousands of Swarovski crystals.

In Japan, the official Sailor Moon Store continues to expand its own accessory range as it celebrates its ninth anniversary, with recent displays highlighting character-colored Glitter Pouches alongside hair clips inspired by Usagi’s Transformation Brooch, Crystal Star Compact and Cosmic Heart Compact.
