Blue Lock art exhibition featuring new work from manga artist Yusuke Nomura opens in Tokyo

A special art collaboration event titled “SHINJUKU ART WEEK Blue Lock x Isetan” has opened at the Isetan Shinjuku department store.
The event, which began on Wednesday, the 13th of August, 2025, presents the world of the popular soccer manga through the lens of contemporary art.

Blue Lock, written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura, is a massively popular series known for its intense, battle-focused take on the sports genre.
This new exhibition, held in the main building’s 6th-floor event space, features a display of special art pieces and the sale of exclusive, limited-edition merchandise.

New special illustrations of the characters Yoichi Isagi and Michael Kaiser have been created just for the event.

This new piece was drawn for the event by the manga’s own artist, Yusuke Nomura, and features a dynamic background created by the contemporary artist, Ryohei Yamashita.

Entry to the event is free, but requires a timed-entry ticket from the “PassMarket” digital ticket service.
The first day of the event was a lottery-based entry, while the remaining days are on a first-come, first-served basis.

A special signing session with both the manga’s author, Muneyuki Kaneshiro, and its artist, Yusuke Nomura, is also planned for customers who make a purchase at the event.

In addition to the physical exhibition, an online sale of the event’s merchandise also began yesterday on the Mitsukoshi Isetan online store.

The “SHINJUKU ART WEEK Blue Lock x Isetan” event is scheduled to run until Monday, the 18th of August, 2025.
