Blue Box Season 2 confirmed for Fall 2026 release

The heartfelt coming-of-age story Blue Box is set to return to television screens next year.
During the Sunday stage event at Jump Festa ’26, it was officially announced that the second season of the anime adaptation based on Kōji Miura’s manga will premiere in Fall 2026 on TBS.

To mark the occasion, the production team unveiled a special “Blue visual” for the new season, illustrated by artist Rei Katō.
Produced by Telecom Animation Film, the series is directed by Yūichirō Yano with series composition by Yūko Kakihara and character designs by Miho Tanino.

The story centers on Taiki Inomata, a badminton player at Eimei Junior and Senior High, and his relationship with basketball star Chinatsu Kano.
The anime’s first season originally debuted on October 3, 2024, running for two consecutive cours on TBS and its affiliated networks, with weekly streaming available on Netflix.

The series features an experienced voice cast, led by Shōya Chiba as Taiki Inomata, Reina Ueda as Chinatsu Kano, and Akari Kitō as rhythmic gymnast Hina Chono.
The ensemble also includes Chiaki Kobayashi, Yūma Uchida, Shōgo Sakata, Anna Nagase, and Asaki Yuikawa.

The manga, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since April 2021, recently released its 23rd compiled volume in Japan and has surpassed 6.2 million copies in circulation.
This reveal rounds out a weekend of significant updates from Jump Festa ’26.
The event previously confirmed that Sakamoto Days will return for a second season, while TOHO announced a 10th Anniversary project and bonus episode for My Hero Academia.

Other major headlines included the confirmation of Mashle: Magic and Muscles Season 3 for 2027 and the first glimpse at the upcoming “Reboot Project” for World Trigger, which will re-adapt the original manga from the beginning.
