Bandai teases IBO’s Gundam Barbatos to join the premium METAL BUILD figure line

A mysterious new teaser has been revealed by Bandai Spirits, hinting at a highly-requested addition to the premium METAL BUILD figure line.
The official Tamashii Nations X account posted an image that appears to be the main protagonist suit from Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans.

The teaser image shows a mobile suit with classic tricolor (red, white, and blue) armor plating over a complex gunmetal internal frame.

The characteristic exposed frame and pipework strongly suggest this new METAL BUILD figure is the Gundam Barbatos.
METAL BUILD is Bandai’s top-tier collector’s line, known for its large scale, intricate detail, and heavy use of die-cast metal parts.

Iron-Blooded Orphans, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary, is a popular entry in the Gundam franchise, known for its gritty story and unique “Gundam Frame” mechanical designs.

This exciting new tease comes just as pre-orders have opened for a figure of another major mobile suit from the same series, the “METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Gundam Marchosias.”

The Gundam Marchosias is a key mobile suit from the Urdr-Hunt side story, a “lost phantom” unit from the Calamity War.

This high-end figure joins the METAL ROBOT SPIRITS line, which is famous for combining the articulation of ROBOT SPIRITS with the weight and finish of die-cast parts.

The figure stands approximately 16 centimeters tall and is finished with high-quality metallic paint.

It faithfully replicates the suit’s most famous feature: its four articulated sub-arms, which are housed in the backpack and can be fully deployed with built-in claw and knuckle guard gimmicks.

The set is packed with accessories, including its primary Bastard Mace, a large odachi (great sword), four daggers, a shield, an interchangeable “glow effect” antenna, and a cloth cape with an internal wire for posing.

The “METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Gundam Marchosias” is priced at 29,700 yen (approx. $192.90 USD / £154.59 GBP).

Pre-orders for the Marchosias figure opened on November 4, 2025, and are available via the Premium Bandai website and other official retail partners, and it is scheduled to ship in May 2026.

More details on the newly teased METAL BUILD figure are expected to be announced soon.
