Bandai Spirits Reveals New Sailor Moon R S.H.Figuarts Figure

Bandai Spirits has officially announced a new addition to their popular S.H.Figuarts action figure line featuring the titular heroine of Sailor Moon.
The new “Sailor Moon -Crystal Star Compact Edition-” is based on her appearance in the second season of the anime, Sailor Moon R.

Created by Naoko Takeuchi, the franchise originally launched in the manga magazine Nakayoshi in 1991.
The series quickly became a global social phenomenon, with the original manga translated into 17 languages and the animation broadcast in over 40 countries.

The franchise saw a massive revitalization starting in 2012, launching a “30th Anniversary Project” that continues to deliver new content today.
This has included e-book releases, musicals, a dedicated fan club, official stores, and large-scale exhibitions.
Recent milestones include the 2024 release of the art book Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Raisonné ART WORKS 1991~2023.

Additionally, the performance show “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon” The Super Live successfully toured London and North America before returning to Japan in 2025.

This new figure features completely renewed sculpting and proportions to better capture the iconic look of the 90s animation style.
The set is designed to replicate the character’s most memorable scenes, specifically the “Eyecatch” pose used during commercial breaks in the R season.

She comes equipped with the Crystal Star Compact worn on her chest and wields the Cutie Moon Rod weapon, allowing collectors to recreate the famous “Moon Princess Halation” attack sequence.

Included with the figure is Usagi’s feline partner, Luna, who has been updated with a movable neck to allow for expressive posing; by turning her head sideways, fans can recreate her charming, prim expression.

Standing approximately 14cm tall, the figure includes a dedicated pedestal.
To fully capture the character’s range of emotions, it includes three different interchangeable facial expressions.
The figure also comes with four types of replacement hands for both the left and right sides, enabling the recreation of her signature “In the name of the Moon” speech or her confident “hands on hips” stance.

The “Sailor Moon -Crystal Star Compact Edition-” is priced at 7,700 yen (approx. $53.00 USD / £42.00 GBP) and it will be sold as a general retail item rather than a web exclusive.
Reservations for the figure are scheduled to open on Thursday, January 8, 2026 via general hobby goods retailers such as HobbyLink Japan.
It is expected to ship to customers in June 2026.
