Bandai Namco announces Tales of Xillia remaster for PS5, Xbox, Switch, and PC

Bandai Namco has announced a new, remastered version of the popular action role-playing game, Tales of Xillia.
This new release is the second installment in the company’s ongoing “Tales of Series Remaster Project.”

Tales of Xillia was originally released in 2011 for the PlayStation 3 as the 15th-anniversary title for the long-running Tales of franchise.
The game was a highly influential entry in the series, introducing several key features that would be used in later titles.

It was the first game in the series to feature a “Dual Protagonist System,” allowing the player to experience the story from the perspective of one of two different main characters, either the medical student Jude Mathis or the powerful spirit lord, Milla Maxwell.

Its combat system also introduced the “Link System,” a mechanic that allowed two characters to link up and coordinate their attacks in battle.

This new remaster will bring the classic and celebrated title to a modern generation of hardware.
The game has been announced for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, the Nintendo Switch, and a PC version will also be released.

The console versions of the Tales of Xillia Remaster are scheduled to be released on Thursday, the 30th of October, 2025.

The PC version is scheduled for release one day later, on Friday, the 31st of October, 2025.
