Bandai Fully Reveals Gundam SEED's Exclusive New MG Freedom Gundam Gunpla Kit

Gundam SEED’s Freedom Gundam is getting a striking new Master Grade release, replacing much of its familiar white armor with translucent parts filled with subtle metallic and glitter-like effects.

The new “MG 1/100 Freedom Gundam Ver.2.0 (Metallic Clear White)” is a Gundam Base limited version of Kira Yamato’s iconic Mobile Suit and uses the existing Ver.2.0 kit as the foundation for an almost entirely new visual finish.

The ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam first appears during Mobile Suit Gundam SEED after Kira gains control of the advanced ZAFT-built machine, becoming his second main Mobile Suit and one of the most important Gundams from the wider Cosmic Era timeline.

Powered by a nuclear engine and equipped with its Neutron Jammer Canceller, Freedom combines exceptional mobility with a substantial ranged arsenal that includes its Balaena Plasma Beam Cannons, Xiphias Rail Cannons, and Lupus Beam Rifle.

Those weapons can be deployed together for Freedom’s Full Burst attacks, while its large wing system remains one of the machine’s defining features and gives the Master Grade kit considerable presence when displayed with everything extended.

The new Metallic Clear White release keeps the structure and articulation of the standard MG Freedom Gundam Ver.2.0, but changes the exterior through a combination of translucent white armor and silver-white metallic molded parts.

Many of the clear components also contain a glitter-like material, creating additional reflections and variations in appearance as light passes through the armor.

The overall idea is similar to the previously released “MG 1/100 Freedom Gundam Ver.2.0 [CROSS CONTRAST COLORS / CLEAR BLUE],” although the new version makes much heavier use of transparent parts and replaces its icy blue appearance with white and silver tones.

Newly designed decals are also included to complement the altered colors, giving fans another way to add detail across the translucent and metallic surfaces.

Freedom Gundam has already received several alternative Gunpla releases during 2026, including a new clear-color Real Grade based on the life-size Freedom Gundam statue in Shanghai.

Kira’s later Mobile Suits are also receiving major new releases, with Bandai recently revealing the “MGEX 1/100 Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam” from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM as the next entry in its high-end MGEX line.

The Metallic Clear White Freedom will make its worldwide debut through Bandai’s official flagship stores in China on September 25, 2026, with the kit priced at CNY 412 (approximately $61 / £46).

Bandai has not yet confirmed release details for Japan, the US, or other regions, although previous China-first Gundam Base products, including the Cross Contrast Colors Freedom, have later received wider availability through official Gundam retail channels, including Premium Bandai US.
