Bandai Confirms Re-Release for Exclusive HG GQuuuuuuX Gunpla Kit

Bandai has officially confirmed a re-release for one of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX’s most popular exclusive Gunpla kits.

The “HG 1/144 Gelgoog (GQ)” recreates the standard-specification gMS-01 Gelgoog from Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX rather than the individually colored machines previously released for Sugai and Bocata.

The GQuuuuuuX interpretation of the Gelgoog follows a very different development history from the familiar mobile suit seen in the original Mobile Suit Gundam, appearing in the alternate timeline as a new-generation Principality of Zeon mass-production machine created using captured Gundam data.

Its grass-green, light-gray, and darker molded colors evoke the traditional mass-production Gelgoog palette while covering the slimmer body, exposed mechanical sections, hollowed armor shapes, and leg-mounted fuel tanks associated with the GQuuuuuuX version.

The kit retains the detailed body construction previously used for the HG Sugai’s Gelgoog and Bocata’s Gelgoog, but replaces their personalized color schemes and weapon configurations with the appearance and equipment of the standard model.

Articulation has been built into the head, chest, abdomen, shoulders, arms, and legs, supporting firing stances, two-handed weapon poses, and more exaggerated movements without losing the unusual proportions of the original design.

The two large thruster units positioned around the rear of the body can also be adjusted independently, making it possible to alter their angle for neutral displays or more aggressive high-speed combat poses.

Its primary ranged weapons are two compact Beam Spray Guns that can be carried simultaneously or mounted on the rear waist using the included joint parts when they are not being used.

A Beam Saber is also provided with a grip that accepts effect parts at either end, allowing it to be displayed as a conventional single-bladed weapon or in a double-ended configuration created specifically for the HG model.

One of the more unusual display options uses a dedicated left-hand part and the supplied lead wire to recreate the Gelgoog launching its hand as a wire-guided grappling weapon.

The wire can be positioned with some freedom to suggest the hand extending away from the arm, adding a distinctive mid-attack display option that is not normally found in an HG Gunpla kit.

An attachment point also allows the completed model to be used with an Action Base 7, which is sold separately and can support aerial poses for the wire weapon, Beam Saber, or paired Beam Spray Guns.

The complete package contains the HG 1/144 Gelgoog (GQ), two Beam Spray Guns, a Beam Saber, Beam Saber effect parts, interchangeable hand parts, weapon-mounting joints, the dedicated wire-launch hand, a lead wire, and the parts required to assemble the mobile suit and its backpack.

The kit has proven to be extremely popular, and this latest re-release is the third one since it originally launched in May 2026.

Pre-orders for the HG 1/144 Gelgoog (GQ) are now open via Premium Bandai Japan, with shipping expected to take place in November 2026.

The HG 1/144 Gelgoog (GQ) is also available to pre-order from Premium Bandai US for $29, with orders being accepted until 8:00 PM EDT on October 16, 2026, at 2:59 AM EDT, and shipping scheduled for November 2026.
