Bandai Announces Two New Gundam SEED Gunpla Kits

Bandai has revealed several new Gunpla model kits based on popular mobile suits from the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED series during the 64th Shizuoka Hobby Show.
The “MG 1/100 Gundam Liberty Astray Red Frame” and “HG 1/144 Z’Gok (SEED FREEDOM Ver.) [Clear Color]” (Gundam Base Exclusive) recreate the iconic machines piloted by Lowe Guele and Athrun Zala respectively.

Master Grade kits stand approximately 18 cm tall and provide a high level of mechanical detail, including a complete internal skeleton.

High Grade models are produced at a 1/144 scale and remain the most popular choice for builders due to their wide variety of available designs and accessible assembly.

The Cosmic Era timeline explores the intense conflict between genetically enhanced Coordinators and natural-born humans known as Naturals.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM serves as a direct sequel to the television series, while the ASTRAY manga explores the secret technological developments occurring in the background of the main war.

The Astray Red Frame is a highly versatile prototype machine known for its organic movement and signature katana weaponry.

The Z’Gok featured in the film is a modified unit that serves as a protective exterior for the Justice Gundam Type II during high-stakes infiltration missions.

The “MG 1/100 Gundam Liberty Astray Red Frame” features an updated design and official naming as seen in the new manga series.

Builders can expect the same high-quality articulation found in the Master Grade line to support the dynamic sword-fighting poses the suit is famous for.

The “HG 1/144 Z’Gok (SEED FREEDOM Ver.) [Clear Color]” (Gundam Base Exclusive) utilizes transparent armor parts to highlight the internal structure and mechanical layout of the mobile suit.

This release captures the bulky aesthetic of the amphibious suit while maintaining the improved articulation standards of the modern High Grade line.

This reveal was part of a larger announcement at the 64th Shizuoka Hobby Show featuring six additional kits from series like After War Gundam X, Iron-Blooded Orphans, and Mobile Fighter G Gundam:
- “HG 1/144 Gundam Virsago”

This model from After War Gundam X includes articulated arm extensions and a deployable belly cannon for its signature attacks.
- “HG 1/144 Gundam Ashtaron”

This companion unit from After War Gundam X features the massive Atomic Scissors, which can be posed to capture enemy kits.
- “FULL MECHANICS 1/100 Graze Ein”

This kit brings the towering mechanical terror from Iron-Blooded Orphans to the 1/100 scale with a focus on its massive melee axes.

- “HG 1/144 Gundam Spiegel”

Fans of G Gundam will appreciate this modern High Grade update to the ninja-inspired mobile fighter representing Neo Germany.

- “HG 1/144 Gyan (Hakuji Equipment)”

This version features the mobile suit in its standard unit colors and will be distributed via a specialized lottery system on the official store.
- “MG 1/100 Gundam Kyrios (Trans-Am Mode) [Metallic Gloss Injection]” (Gundam Base Exclusive)

This release uses a shimmering finish to replicate the high-energy Trans-Am state of the transforming suit from Mobile Suit Gundam 00.
Pre-orders for the “HG 1/144 Gyan (Hakuji Equipment)” are set to open on May 15 via Premium Bandai.

Pre-order dates for all other revealed Gunpla kits are yet to be confirmed and prices and shipping dates for all kits, including the Gyan, have not been announced at the time of writing.
