Bandai Announces Re-Release for 8 Popular Char’s Counterattack RG Gunpla Kits

Bandai has officially confirmed a re-release for eight popular Real Grade Gunpla kits based on Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack.
The selection covers multiple kits that are central to the rivalry between Amuro Ray and Char Aznable in the run-up to their final confrontation in Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack.

Bandai’s RG line places detailed mechanical construction, layered armor, and extensive articulation into the compact 1/144 scale, aiming to give each mobile suit a level of complexity more commonly associated with larger Gunpla grades.

The RG 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam Ver.2.0, priced at ¥3,850 (approx. $24 USD / £18 GBP), updates the original Gundam with two-tone white armor, dense head and panel detailing, an opening chest section and a Core Fighter that transforms into the Core Block housed inside the mobile suit.

The RG 1/144 Zeong, priced at ¥6,050 (approx. $37 USD / £28 GBP), recreates the imposing mobile armor with a mono-eye that moves alongside the head, individually articulated thrusters, opening armor and detachable forearms connected by wires to represent its remote-controlled mega particle cannons.

The RG 1/144 ν Gundam, priced at ¥4,950 (approx. $30 USD / £23 GBP), uses sliding armor and flexible torso joints to support expressive poses, while its beam rifle, shield, beam saber, New Hyper Bazooka and six Fin Funnels provide everything needed to recreate Amuro’s final mobile suit.

The RG 1/144 Sazabi, priced at ¥5,280 (approx. $32 USD / £24 GBP), balances the mobile suit’s heavy armor with a wide range of movement, opening thrusters and detailed mechanical components, alongside its funnels, shield, beam tomahawk and beam sabers.

The RG 1/144 Hi-ν Gundam, priced at ¥4,950 (approx. $30 USD / £23 GBP), features a Multi-Link system that moves sections of its armor alongside the joints, a Fin Funnel container that spreads the weapons into a wing-like arrangement and broad leg articulation suited to more dramatic poses.

The RG 1/144 MS-06F Mass Production Zaku, priced at ¥3,080 (approx. $19 USD / £14 GBP), includes two commander antenna options and a standard head, accurately recreated F-Type armor, improved weapon-holding hands, and realistic decals that add markings and metallic details.

The RG 1/144 MS-06S Zaku II, priced at ¥3,080 (approx. $19 USD / £14 GBP), recreates Char’s signature red mobile suit with an Advanced MS Joint internal structure, segmented power pipes, and realistic decals designed to give its compact armor a more mechanical finish.

The RG 1/144 MSM-07S Char’s Z’Gok, priced at ¥3,080 (approx. $19 USD / £14 GBP), captures the amphibious mobile suit’s streamlined body, extendable limbs and clawed forearms through a flexible internal frame designed to support both underwater movement and aggressive ground combat poses.

Lottery applications for all eight kits are now available through Premium Bandai Japan until August 3, 2026 at 3:59 PM JST, with the winners scheduled to be announced on August 24, while availability through international retailers such as Premium Bandai US may vary.
