Bandai Announces New Official Naruto Trading Card Game

The world of Naruto is preparing to enter a new arena as Bandai has officially unveiled an all-new trading card game based on the legendary ninja franchise.
The announcement was made during the “BANDAI CARD GAMES Next Plan Presentation 2026.06” event, where the company confirmed that the upcoming title will be known simply as the “Naruto Card Game”.

Alongside the reveal, Bandai released the game’s first teaser trailer and launched official online channels dedicated to the project, giving fans an early look at what is planned for the new competitive card game.
The Naruto franchise remains one of the most successful manga and anime properties ever created, making its arrival in the trading card game market a significant development for both collectors and competitive players alike.

Created by Masashi Kishimoto, Naruto debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1999 and rapidly became one of the magazine’s defining series before concluding its original run in 2014 after 700 chapters.
The story follows Naruto Uzumaki, a young ninja who dreams of becoming Hokage while overcoming fierce rivalries, personal hardships, and threats that endanger his village and the wider ninja world.

Over the years, the manga has sold more than 250 million copies across more than 60 countries and regions, establishing itself as one of the highest-selling manga series of all time.
The anime adaptation began broadcasting in 2002 and was later followed by Naruto Shippuden, which continued the story until 2017.
The franchise celebrated the twentieth anniversary of its television anime in 2022 and has since expanded through eleven theatrical films, video games, mobile apps, merchandise, stage productions, exhibitions, music events, and even Kabuki performances.
Today, the animated series is distributed across more than 145 countries and regions, helping maintain Naruto’s popularity with audiences around the globe.

The new “Naruto Card Game” project forms part of Bandai’s growing BANDAI CARD GAMES portfolio, a brand responsible for numerous trading card games distributed across more than 50 territories throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and other international markets.

According to Bandai, the brand’s goal is not only to connect fans with their favorite franchises through gameplay but also to create opportunities for players to build communities through shared interests.
To commemorate the announcement, Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto provided a special message expressing his excitement for the project.
Kishimoto stated that the world of Naruto continues to expand in new ways and shared his hope that the cards will reach fans everywhere, both in their hands and in their hearts.
A commemorative autograph board created by Kishimoto was also unveiled as part of the celebration surrounding the game’s reveal.

While gameplay systems, card designs, and product contents remain under wraps for now, Bandai has confirmed that a full product presentation is scheduled for July 29, 2026.

Fans will also have an opportunity to experience the game before launch, as the world’s first hands-on demonstration is scheduled to take place at Gen Con in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, running from July 30 through August 2.

The “Naruto Card Game” is scheduled for a simultaneous worldwide release in 2027, marking one of the franchise’s largest coordinated global product launches to date.
