Bandai announces new Master Grade SD Destiny Gundam model kit
A new plastic model kit of the Destiny Gundam from the popular anime series “Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny” has been announced by Bandai Spirits.
The new kit was revealed during the “2nd Gunpla 45th Anniversary Special Broadcast.”
The kit will be released as part of the “Master Grade SD” (MGSD) line, a high-end brand that incorporates the advanced technology of Master Grade kits into a super-deformed (SD) scale.
The Destiny Gundam is the final, personal mobile suit of the series’ protagonist, Shinn Asuka.
This new model kit brings the iconic design to the MGSD format, which is known for its incredible detail, complex internal frames, and advanced gimmicks packed into a compact, chibi-style form.
While full details have not yet been released, the initial reveal highlighted several key features of the new kit.
The model will feature a large and expressive recreation of the mobile suit’s signature “Wings of Light.”
It was also stated that the beam shield generators on the back of the hands will be recreated using the unique, advanced technology of the MGSD line.
The Destiny Gundam has been a popular subject for model kits in the past, and this new version promises to be one of the most detailed and technologically advanced super-deformed versions ever released.
The “MGSD Destiny Gundam” will be priced at ¥4,950 (approx. $33 USD/£25 GBP) and it is scheduled to be released in February 2026.
