Attack on Titan x Sapporo Beer collaboration gets nationwide release

Sapporo Beer, one of Japan’s top beverage manufacturers, has announced an exciting collaborative product with the widely popular anime series “Attack on Titan”.

This new offering will see the release of special cans of “Sapporo Draft Beer Black Label” which will feature Levi and Erwin from Attack on Titan on the can.

Beer enthusiasts and fans of “Attack on Titan” alike can look forward to the availability of this special product, which will be offered in limited quantities in stores across Japan starting from Tuesday, April 15th 2025.

The “Attack on Titan” promotion is based on Sapporo Beer’s “Adults Who Take On Challenges” adverts

The genesis of this collaboration can be traced back to the previous year, when a partnership was forged due to a unique geographical connection. 

Hajime Isayama, the acclaimed author of “Attack on Titan,” hails from Hita City, located in Oita Prefecture.

Coincidentally, Sapporo Beer also operates a manufacturing plant within the same region. 

This local connection facilitated a limited release of design cans in 23 prefectures situated within the western Japan area, which proved to be a significant success, garnering considerable popularity among consumers. 

In response to the enthusiastic and numerous requests received from ardent fans across the country, a decision has been made to extend the availability of these special design cans nationwide this year, allowing a broader audience to enjoy this unique collaboration.

The packaging for this particular product features a striking and exclusive image created specifically for Sapporo Draft Beer Black Label. 

The design showcases two prominent characters from “Attack on Titan”.

The highly regarded Captain Levi will aptly feature on the smaller 350ml cans, and the 13th Commander of the Survey Corps, Erwin Smith, will feature on the 500ml cans.

Two different size cans will be available

Each character is depicted in the act of raising a toast, symbolizing camaraderie and shared moments.

Adding an interactive element to this special release, consumers who purchase the “Sapporo Draft Beer Black Label ‘Attack on Titan’ Design Can” will have the opportunity to access exclusive digital content.

By scanning the QR code included on the can, purchasers will be granted the chance to listen to a special personalized message from each of the featured characters, Levi and Erwin. 

Erwin will feature on the 500ml cans of Sapporo Draft Beer Black Label

The theme of these unique messages will revolve around the intriguing question: “What does it mean to be an adult?”, offering fans a deeper connection with the beloved characters and their perspectives.

The equivalent of 300,000 cases will be made available for fans of both beer and Attack on Titan to purchase.

Pricing may vary as it will be set by the individual retailer, and cans will start to appear on shelves from the 15th of April 2025 at convenience stores and supermarkets throughout Japan.
