Atmospheric Co-op First-Person Survival Shooter HAEX Heading to PC

Swedish studio Dead Astronauts announced on June 5, 2026, their new project titled HAEX, an atmospheric cooperative first-person survival shooter.
The game is set in a sub-arctic northern wilderness that has been scarred by alien activity and swallowed by a mysterious paranormal mist.
Players take on the role of members of a science expedition who must track down their missing colleagues after surviving a helicopter crash.
The title is scheduled to launch in Early Access for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store sometime in 2027..
Gameplay can be experienced solo or with up to three friends, requiring players to manage hunger, thirst, and cold while gathering resources.
Creative director Tobias Nyman stated that the team has worked to create an open world where players can fundamentally reshape the environment and determine their own paths.
A unique mechanic involves alien seeds that can be planted to grant access to new pathways or change the structure of the world.
The deeper players venture into the mist, the more dangerous the enemies and environment become, necessitating the use of firearms, melee weapons, and specialized gadgets.
Progress is designed to carry across sessions, allowing users to bring geared characters into a friend’s active game while maintaining independent world states.
The announcement was a major highlight of the Summer Game Fest 2026 event, accompanied by a new trailer.
