Armatus Arriving This Winter

Publisher Fictions and developer Counterplay Games announced on June 7, 2026, that their upcoming third-person roguelite shooter Armatus is scheduled to launch this winter.

The title is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store.

Players on Xbox and PC will also be able to access the game through the Game Pass subscription service upon its release.

Set in the demon-infested ruins of a post-apocalyptic Paris, the game casts players as the last supernatural warrior of an ancient order searching for the Sunless Gate.

Armatus features a combat loop where players wield scythes, firearms, and celestial powers to battle grotesque monsters through shifting hellscapes.

Although the full release date remains to be determined beyond the winter window, a playable demo was previously made available on Steam on February 23, 2026.

Counterplay Games, known for their work on Godfall, first revealed the project with an official announcement trailer during the Xbox Partner Preview on November 20, 2025.

Recent gameplay footage was showcased during the PC Gaming Show on June 7, 2026, highlighting the game’s focus on starting with high power and evolving combat styles through passive enhancements.

Technical specifications for the console versions include support for 4K Ultra HD and DualSense wireless controller features like vibration and trigger effects.

The official store listings confirm that while the game is not yet available, it will support a wide range of languages including English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese.
