Amazon Japan to ship orders in METAL GEAR SOLID Δ themed boxes ahead of game’s release
Konami Digital Entertainment has launched a collaboration with the online retailer Amazon to celebrate the upcoming release of METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER.
A special promotional website for the new partnership went live on Friday, the 1st of August, 2025.
METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER is a full remake of the critically acclaimed 2004 PlayStation 2 classic, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, rebuilt from the ground up for modern hardware.
Due to the game’s immense popularity, several figures of key characters such as Revolver Ocelot, Naked Snake and The Boss have been announced before the remake has even been released.
The new collaboration with Amazon will feature two main components: limited-edition themed packaging and an interactive augmented reality experience.
For a limited time, a certain number of packages shipped from Amazon will use special cardboard boxes and envelopes featuring designs from the new game.
This themed packaging is scheduled to begin being used for packages shipped out on the 27th of August, 2025.
The campaign also includes a unique augmented reality, or AR, feature.
Using an AR camera, customers will be able to scan the special collaboration boxes to “discover” the game’s protagonist, Snake, in an interactive experience.
This AR feature will also work with standard, non-themed Amazon boxes.
The newly launched special website for the collaboration will also host other activities.
These include a “find the hidden box” mission within the webpage and a giveaway for an exclusive digital wallpaper, both of which are scheduled to be rolled out sequentially.
This promotion brings the stealth-action themes of the Metal Gear series into the real world, allowing fans to find the legendary soldier in their own homes.
The game, METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER, is scheduled to be released on the 28th of August, 2025.
