AirAsia’s Sonic the Hedgehog airplane gets a makeover with brand new interior design

The special, officially licensed “Sonic the Hedgehog” themed airplane, which is a collaboration between Sega and the airline AirAsia, has been completely renewed with a brand-new interior design.
AirAsia and SEGA first revealed the Sonic-themed plane back in 2024, alongside another aircraft based on the hit JRPG, Persona 5 Royal.

The plane, an Airbus A330 operated by AirAsia X, now features an interior that is decorated with artwork from two of the latest games in the franchise, Sonic Racing Cross Worlds and Sonic Rumble.

Passengers who fly on this special plane will be surrounded by decorations featuring Sonic and his friends, allowing them to be fully immersed in the world of the blue blur.

In addition to the physical airplane, the collaboration also extends into the digital world.

A new, exclusive, AirAsia-themed sticker has been added to the game Sonic Racing Cross Worlds.
This sticker, which is based on the AirAsia logo, allows players to customize their in-game vehicles.

This ongoing partnership between Sega and AirAsia offers a unique and high-flying tribute to the long-running and globally popular video game franchise.
A new promotional video has been released, which gives a look inside the newly redesigned cabin.
The newly redesigned “Sonic the Hedgehog” plane is now in service and the new, in-game AirAsia sticker is also now available in Sonic Racing Cross Worlds.
