Adult Gon becomes a pen, allows HUNTER x HUNTER fans to “use all the ink”

An unconventional new creation will reimagine one of the most iconic transformations in anime as a functional item.
Banpresto, a prize figure brand of BANDAI SPIRITS, has revealed the “HUNTER×HUNTER Fig Life! Gon – All Out Pen – Figure.”

This unique collectible, which doubles as a functional writing instrument, is set to be released this June.

Hunter x Hunter, created by Yoshihiro Togashi, is a well-known manga and anime series celebrated for its intricate plotlines, diverse characters, and intense battles.

Gon Freecss, the series’ main protagonist, is known for his determination and growth, particularly during the “Chimera Ant arc” where he undergoes a dramatic transformation into an “adult” form, characterized by extremely long hair.

This particular functional figure/pen hybrid draws inspiration from that iconic, powerful moment that sees Gon demand all of his Nen ability to exact revenge on Neferpitou, who was a recent addition to Banpresto’s Vibration Stars figure line.

This Gon figure/pen stands at a huge 60cm tall and ingeniously incorporates a ballpoint pen into its design.

The tip of Gon’s greatly extended hair, a visual representation of his “forced growth” or “adult” form, functions as the writing point of the pen.

While serving as a practical pen, the item is also designed to be displayed as a standalone figure, making it a dual-purpose collectible for enthusiasts.

Fans looking to add this unique figure of Gon to their collection can head to arcades/amusement centers in Japan from the 25th of June, 2025, when it will become available to win through crane games.
Availability outside of Japan will vary, as the figure will likely be sold by a number of 3rd party retailers who either acquire stock through the second hand market in Japan, or first hand through one of Banpresto’s local distribution arms.
Provided the “HUNTER×HUNTER Fig Life! Gon – All Out Pen – Figure” is licensed for your location, the release date at general hobby stores should be around 1-2 months after the initial Japanese release, as stock is only shipped to Bandai/Banpresto’s distributors once the product officially launches in Japan to avoid devaluing the prize figure market.
