A new Evangelion ride is coming to one of Japan’s top theme parks in spring 2026

The Huis Ten Bosch theme park in Nagasaki, Japan, has announced a major new attraction based on the globally popular Evangelion anime franchise.
The new “flying theater” ride, titled “Evangelion The Ride-8K-,” is being launched as part of the 30th-anniversary celebration of the Evangelion series.

The attraction will be a high-tech, immersive experience, projecting an original story onto a massive 8K dome screen.
Guests will experience the thrill of battling the mysterious “Angels” through in-theater effects, including sudden drops and seat vibrations, creating what the park describes as “an experience of unparalleled intensity and realism.”

A unique feature of the ride is that it will feature an original story set within the European-style townscape of the Huis Ten Bosch theme park itself.

The new Evangelion ride is the third phase of a new growth strategy for the Dutch-themed resort, which is seeking to diversify its visitor base and attract more families and anime fans, as it has historically relied heavily on senior visitors.
This follows the opening of the “Miffy Wonder Square” in June and the “Air Cruise The Ride” attraction last month.

In addition to the new ride, a lineup of exclusive, original Evangelion merchandise and limited-edition food menus will also be available for purchase at the park.

“Evangelion The Ride-8K-” is scheduled to open in the spring of 2026.
