Takeshi Fukazawa Cherry Blossoms Photography Exhibition 2026

Last Updated on March 5, 2026

Nikon Imaging Japan is set to host a special photography exhibition titled Cherry Blossoms at Nikon Plaza Tokyo, featuring the work of acclaimed nature photographer Takeshi Fukazawa.

The exhibition will offer visitors an opportunity to experience the spring landscapes of Japan through a collection of images captured across the country, from the meadows of Hokkaido to the forests of Yakushima.

Fukazawa, a freelance photographer and lecturer at Nikon College, has spent years documenting cherry blossoms in their natural habitats to highlight the strength of wild species and the elegance of cultivated varieties.

The showcase aims to move beyond popular tourist spots to explore how these iconic flowers are deeply connected to the specific environments in which they grow.

Attendees will see images of wild species that bloom following the northern snowmelt alongside rare cultivated varieties known for unique petal shapes, unusual colors, and strong fragrances.

With hundreds of cultivated varieties developed throughout Japanese history compared to only ten native wild species, the collection explores the significant variety behind this national symbol.

The event will be held at THE GALLERY within Nikon Plaza Tokyo and will offer free admission to the public during regular gallery hours.

Located a short five-minute walk from Shinjuku-nishiguchi Station, the venue provides an accessible space for urban viewers to engage with Japan’s natural geography and varied climate.

Visitors are encouraged to use this exhibition as a chance to slow down and view familiar seasonal scenery with a fresh perspective before the gallery closes its doors on Sundays.
