Sakura Jidai Festival 2026
Last Updated on March 5, 2026

The historic castle town of Sakura in Chiba Prefecture is preparing to host the Sakura Jidai Festival, an event that has celebrated the region’s heritage for more than twenty years.
Attendees will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the Edo period through a variety of traditional activities and cultural performances held along Shinmachi Street.
The festival grounds will feature interactive experiences such as the chance to try on authentic samurai armor and participate in shuriken throwing games.
Local vendors are set to line the streets with stalls offering a selection of traditional food and beverages reminiscent of old Japan.
Organizers have timed the celebration to coincide with the local cherry blossom season, allowing guests to view the seasonal blooms while exploring the historical displays.
The festivities are centered near the Sakura City Museum of Art, which is situated a short distance from major transport hubs in the area.
Visitors can reach the event site within a ten minute walk from the south exit of Keisei Sakura Station or a twenty minute walk from the north exit of JR Sakura Station.
Due to the lack of dedicated parking facilities in the immediate vicinity, those planning to attend are encouraged to use public transportation services.
