Matsuda Cherry Blossom Festival 2026
Last Updated on March 5, 2026

The town of Matsuda in Kanagawa Prefecture is preparing for the return of its annual cherry blossom festival, a seasonal highlight held at Nishihirabatake Park.
This long running event, which has been observed for nearly twenty five years, is famous for its early blooming kawazuzakura trees that offer a splash of pink well before the typical cherry blossom season begins.
Visitors can expect to see these flowers paired with vibrant yellow rapeseed blossoms, creating a scenic landscape that serves as a traditional herald of the spring season.
Clear weather provides an additional draw for attendees, as the park offers panoramic views of Mount Fuji in the distance.
Admission to the festival grounds is set at 300 yen for adults and 100 yen for children between the ages of 6 and 17.
Those traveling to the venue can reach the park via a 20 minute walk from Shin Matsuda Station on the Odakyu Odawara Line.
To assist with local transport, shuttle buses will operate from the North Exit of JR Matsuda Station at 30 minute intervals throughout the day.
The shuttle service costs 160 yen for adults and 80 yen for children for a one way trip.
Drivers can access the park within five minutes of exiting the Tomei Expressway at the Oi Matsuda Interchange.
Prospective visitors are encouraged to consult official local forecasts and venue websites prior to their trip, as exact blooming periods are subject to natural variations in weather patterns.
