WheelMates Arriving on PC September 7

Developer Firevolt has announced that the cooperative RC car adventure WheelMates is scheduled to launch for PC via Steam on September 7, 2026.

While the initial release focuses on the PC platform, versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series are confirmed to follow at a later date.

Players interested in trying the game early can access an updated demo starting June 15, 2026, as part of the Steam Next Fest: June 2026 Edition.

This new demo version will introduce support for the Steam Deck alongside refined camera systems and improved car handling controls.

The updated preview also includes fresh story elements that provide insight into the motivations and location of the mysterious professor who owns the house.

WheelMates tasks two players with navigating a large mansion by controlling a pair of RC cars that must work together to solve mechanical puzzles.

The gameplay emphasizes shared problem-solving and discovery at a relaxed pace without the use of timers or competitive pressure.

To navigate the environment, the toy cars utilize specialized equipment such as jump boosters, grappling hooks, and magnetic wheels for adhering to metal surfaces.

Drawing inspiration from the Metroidvania genre, the game encourages players to backtrack through the house as they unlock new abilities to access previously unreachable areas.
