Wendy’s First Kitchen has revealed a new Hawaiian-themed menu as part of their ongoing “American Journey” series.

Six new products, including the “Locomoco Burger,” are set to join the Wendy’s Japan menu this June.

Wendy’s First Kitchen is a unique fast-food hybrid found in Japan, combining the American Wendy’s burger menu with First Kitchen’s broader offerings, which include pasta and other localized dishes.

The “American Journey” initiative aims to bring authentic American flavors and concepts to the Japanese market in an accessible and engaging way.

The second phase of the “American Journey” series is themed around “Hawaii,” drawing inspiration from the iconic Hawaiian dish, Loco Moco.

The new offerings feature an original sauce that blends two different types of gravy: a rich “gravy sauce” commonly used in authentic Hawaiian Loco Moco, and a more familiar “demi-glace sauce” tailored to Japanese preferences.

Loco Moco
Loco Moco typically consists of white rice topped with a hamburger and egg, with a serving of a gravy style sauce

This combination is designed to enhance the flavor of both the 100% beef patties and chicken options.

The new product lineup includes (prices included tax):

  • Locomoco Burger (Single: ¥890, Double: ¥1,400)

Features a beef patty, fluffy egg, fresh lettuce, and the original blended sauce. The double version increases both patties and sauce for a more substantial meal.

To commemorate the new product launch, Wendy’s First Kitchen is running an X (formerly Twitter) follow and repost campaign.

From Thursday, June 12th, to Sunday, June 29th, users who follow the official First Kitchen X account (@FK_PR) and repost the designated campaign post will be entered into a lottery.

Twenty winners will receive two free meal tickets for the new products via direct message.

The new Hawaii themed menu items will be available at all Wendy’s First Kitchen locations starting Thursday, June 19th, and are expected to run until mid-August.

The Locomoco Crispy Chicken Burger and Jr. Locomoco Burger will not be available at select locations, including WFK Aqua City Odaiba (Tokyo), WFK Namba Ebisubashi (Osaka), WFK Tempozan Marketplace (Osaka), and WFK Kyoto Shinkyogoku (Kyoto).
