Tokyo’s cutest new attraction, Chiikawa Park, is officially open

“Chiikawa Park” has officially opened its doors in Tokyo’s popular Ikebukuro district.
This immersive attraction aims to draw both long-time fans and newcomers into the whimsical world of “Chiikawa,” created by illustrator Nagano.

“Chiikawa” originated as a web manga series on X in 2020.
Its simple yet expressive art style and relatable stories, which often depict the titular character Chiikawa and friends, such as Hachiware and Usagi, navigating everyday challenges, triumphs, and even some darker undertones, have resulted in immense popularity.
The franchise has expanded rapidly, leading to an anime adaptation by Doga Kobo, as well as numerous merchandise collaborations with brands like UNIQLO and Kura Sushi.

Its appeal lies in its ability to resonate with audiences of all ages, offering a blend of cuteness, humor, and a subtle reflection on the complexities of life.
“Chiikawa Park” offers a variety of experiences across two floors.

The park is located within Sunshine City, a large complex in Ikebukuro that holds a shopping center, restaurants, an aquarium, a planetarium, and an observation deck.
The centerpiece of “Chiikawa Park” is its experiential exhibition area on the basement floor.

Here, visitors can “enter the world of Chiikawa” through a series of scenes and photo spots inspired by the manga.

Each space is designed to immerse guests in different moments from the story, allowing them to feel as if they are part of Chiikawa’s adventures.

The exhibition area offers fans the opportunity to interact with a number of different characters from the series.

The “Goblin Dungeon” area is particularly memorable, as it recreates a popular scene from the manga.

On the first floor, “Chiikawa Park” features a dedicated shop area and a game corner, providing opportunities for both retail therapy and interactive play.
The merchandise shop will sell a wide array of limited original items that are exclusive to “Chiikawa Park,” ensuring that fans can acquire unique collectibles.

These include not only special Chiikawa Park-themed goods but also personalized products where visitors can combine their favorite parts to create unique mementos.
