Tokyo National Museum Free Admission Day

The Tokyo National Museum’s regular exhibitions will be free to the public on the third Monday of September.

This day corresponds with the Respect for the Aged Day national holiday in Japan.

This is one of only two days of the year that you can get into the museum’s general collection for free.

The museum exhibits around 600 works of art in fields such as painting, calligraphy, sculpture, and archaeology.

Fans of samurai history should note that they also have a collection of arms and armour.
