The latest Mobile Suit Gundam manga is set to release its first volume

The first compiled “tankobon” volume of the new manga series “Mobile Suit Gundam Eight” is scheduled to be released this week.
Mobile Suit Gundam Eight is a completely new “Alternative Series” manga that was created to celebrate the 24th anniversary of Monthly Gundam Ace magazine.

The series is a major collaboration, with the scenario written by Hajime Kamoshida, the author of Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, and art by Hidei Takagi.
It tells the story of Naomi Subaru, the pilot of the “last Gundam left to mankind,” the Gundam Zirius.

To celebrate the launch of the first volume, a special commemorative fair will be held at all Animate stores across Japan and on the Animate online store.

During the campaign, customers who purchase one copy of Mobile Suit Gundam Eight Volume 1 will receive a free, exclusive “B5-sized Visual Board” (2 varieties) as a gift.

These visual boards feature the full-color artwork from the manga’s appearances in Monthly Gundam Ace magazine.
In addition to this nationwide campaign, a special, store-exclusive bonus will be offered at the Animate Ikebukuro Main Store.

Customers who purchase the volume at that specific location will receive an additional, exclusive “Ikebukuro Main Store Limited Bromide” as a gift.

The ” Mobile Suit Gundam Eight Volume 1 Commemorative Fair” is scheduled to run from the 23rd of October to the 24th of November.
Mobile Suit Gundam Eight Volume 1 is priced at ¥880 (approx. $6 USD / £4.75 GBP).

The manga is scheduled to be released on Thursday, the 23rd of October.
