Tales of Phantasia honored in huge new 30th anniversary goods collection
A new line of official merchandise has been announced to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the long-running “Tales of” video game series.
The first volume of this new “Iconic Merchandise” line includes a range based on the very first game, Tales of Phantasia, as well as other games.
Tales of Phantasia, which was first released in 1995 for the Super Famicom, established many of the gameplay and storytelling conventions that would come to define the popular action-RPG series.
This new collection of goods is based on iconic and memorable scenes from the game that were chosen by a popular vote held among the series’ fanbase.
The merchandise features new illustrations based on these fan-selected moments.
The Tales of Phantasia items in this first volume are focused on the game’s two main protagonists, the swordsman Cress Albane and the healer Mint Adenade.
A photo stand and a cloth poster in the collection are dedicated to a specific, emotionally resonant scene from the game titled “A Kind Lie.”

The new Tales of Phatasia collection is part of the first of a planned three waves of merchandise.
The other series featured in the first wave are Tales of Destiny, Tales of Eternia, Tales of Destiny 2, Tales of Symphonia, Tales of Rebirth and Tales of Legendia.
The first wave also includes general goods that are based on all of the series, such as badges and postcard sets:
- Official Trading Glitter Can Badge Vol. 1: ¥600 per random badge, or ¥8,400 for a complete set of 14.
- Official Trading Clear Card (Character ver.) Vol. 1: ¥800 per random card, or ¥11,200 for a complete set of 14.
- Official Trading Clear Card (Famous Scene ver.) Vol. 1: ¥800 per random card, or ¥5,600 for a complete set of 7.
- Official Trading ID Photo Style Bromide Vol. 1 (14 varieties): ¥700 each.
- Official Postcard Book Vol. 1: ¥2,200

- Official Notebook: ¥1,500
Pre-orders for this first volume of goods are currently open on Japanese online stores, including the official Asobi Store, with the reservation period scheduled to run until the 31st of August, 2025.
