Sword Art Online’s Cast Go Back to School For Exclusive New Teacher Themed Merch Collection
Sword Art Online’s most popular characters are heading into the classroom for a new school-themed merchandise collection arriving at Animate stores across Japan in September 2026.
Created for the Sword Art Online ‘Teacher Style’ Animate Fair 2026, the collection features newly designed illustrations that reimagine characters from the anime as teachers, with the artwork appearing across a range of new collectibles.
Sword Art Online follows Kirito and other players across a series of virtual reality worlds, beginning with their fight to survive after becoming trapped inside the VRMMORPG that gives the franchise its name.
The new “Teacher Style” merch collection will include character badges, acrylic stands and stickers alongside additional merchandise featuring the newly created artwork.
Fans purchasing Sword Art Online merchandise during the fair will also have the opportunity to collect exclusive Teacher ID Card-style bonuses, with seven different designs available.
One randomly selected Teacher ID Card-style card will be provided for every ¥1,100 (approx. $7 USD/ £5 GBP) spent on eligible Sword Art Online merchandise.
The bonus will also be available with each eligible Sword Art Online book, audio or visual product purchased or reserved during the campaign, with reservations requiring a minimum deposit of ¥1,100 (approx. $7 USD/ £5 GBP).
The Sword Art Online ~Teacher Style~ Animate Fair 2026 will run from September 26 through October 18, 2026 at Animate stores throughout Japan, with the campaign also available through the Animate online store.
