Stunning new Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End inspired shoes are now available
A unique pair of shoes based on the popular anime Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End are set to go on sale.
Born from a collaboration between the TV anime series and fashion brand MAYLA, the new pump style shoes will shortly be available for pre-order.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is an acclaimed anime series, adapted from the manga by Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe.
It has gained widespread recognition for its contemplative narrative, focusing on the elven mage Frieren’s journey long after she defeated the Demon King, exploring themes of time, memory, and the human experience.
Another recent collaboration saw the creation of a range of apparel based around Frieren and her friends by Japanese fashion label “earth music&ecology Japan Label”.
MAYLA, known for its ornate and visually striking footwear and accessories, frequently engages in collaborations with popular anime series.
Recent collaborations have seen the release of Black Butler and Bungo Stray Dogs themed shoes.
This latest partnership combines the Frieren anime’s serene fantasy with MAYLA’s distinctive design philosophy.
The “Frieren Iconic Shoes Objet Pumps” are specifically inspired by Frieren, the series’ elven protagonist.
The pure white, elegant design aims to capture the anime’s beautiful world and Frieren’s delicate characteristics through intricate details.
The developers describe them as more than just shoes, but rather “objects” imbued with a magical story, intended as collector’s items.
Key design elements include:
- Ribbons
The ribbons are colored to evoke Frieren’s hair, featuring a gold and red charm in the center that mirrors her earrings.
- Upper
The instep strap is designed to resemble Frieren’s essential waist belt, giving the pumps a subtle and refined appearance.
- Insole
The insoles feature the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End logo along with Blue Moon Grass, a flower native to Frieren’s homeland, symbolizing her memories with Himmel.
- Toe
The upper part of the toe is adorned with delicate lace, reminiscent of “the magic to create a field of flowers.”
The center of the shoe’s opening is accented with a part that suggests the tip of Frieren’s staff.
Each pair of pumps comes in a special original box, designed for display to further immerse owners in the world of Frieren from the moment they unbox them.
The “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Iconic Shoes Objet Pumps” are priced at ¥29,700 (tax included).
Pre-orders will begin on Friday, June 20th, 2025, at 8:00 PM JST via the official MAYLA website.
