Square Enix reveals results of official Chrono Trigger character popularity poll

Square Enix has officially announced the results of their official Chrono Trigger popularity poll.

The “Chrono Trigger Characters Across Time” poll was conducted from September 19 to October 5 to celebrate the upcoming 30th anniversary of the legendary RPG.

Fans were asked to vote for their most “cherished characters” from the story, and the results have been compiled into a special video showcasing the top 10 winners alongside their most memorable scenes.

Chrono Trigger, originally released for the Super Nintendo in 1995, is often referred to as a “Dream Project.”

It brought together industry titans: Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii, Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama, and Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi.

The game features a time-traveling narrative spanning from the Prehistoric era to the distant Future, utilizing a refined Active Time Battle system and a celebrated soundtrack by Yasunori Mitsuda, Nobuo Uematsu, and Noriko Matsueda.

In a competitive field of beloved characters, the noble swordsman Frog claimed the number one spot.

The protagonist Crono followed in second place, with the futuristic robot Robo taking third.

Chrono Trigger is currently available to purchase on PC (Steam) and smartphone platforms.

To coincide with the announcement, a 50% off sale is currently underway.

The discount is available on the smartphone version until December 1, and on the Steam version until December 3.
