Spyro: A Realm Beyond Revealed For PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2 and PC
Activision and developer Toys for Bob officially announced Spyro: A Realm Beyond during the XBOX Games Showcase on June 7, 2026.
This upcoming title marks the first original entry in the mainline series in over two decades and returns to the series’ original continuity.
Scheduled for release in Spring 2027, the game is being developed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
The story follows Spyro as he becomes stranded in a mysterious new land and must defend it against an invading force known as the Scavs.
A major gameplay evolution introduces a true flight mechanic, allowing players to soar through expansive environments at any time rather than just gliding.
Voice actor Tom Kenny will return to provide the voice for the purple dragon, a role he has held for much of the franchise’s history.
The project is the first major release from Toys for Bob since the studio transitioned to an independent developer earlier in 2024.
Xbox Game Pass subscribers will have access to the title on launch day across console, PC, and cloud platforms.
