Sonic and Hatsune Miku to release 5 songs for new “Project ONSOKU” music collab

Sega has announced the launch of “Project ONSOKU,” a special project featuring a musical collaboration between its flagship character, Sonic the Hedgehog, and the world-famous virtual singer, Hatsune Miku.
This new project will feature five original songs and music videos, created by five different acclaimed Vocaloid producers, which will be released sequentially each week.

All five of these new songs will also be implemented into the upcoming racing game, Sonic Racing Cross Worlds, where they can be enjoyed as in-game background music.
The first of these new songs was released on Thursday, the 28th of August.
The track, “Saiai Jinsei Runner” (“Beloved Life Runner”), was written and composed by the popular producer Kairiki Bear, and features jacket art by the illustrator Nou.
The full schedule for the upcoming song releases has also been revealed.

In addition to the music, more information regarding Hatsune Miku’s appearance in Sonic Racing Cross Worlds as a playable racer has been revealed.

She will be available as part of a free downloadable content update and will come with her own original machine, the “Diva Machina.”

To celebrate the new project, Sega will also have a booth at the upcoming “Hatsune Miku: Magical Mirai 2025” event in Tokyo.
The booth will feature a photo spot with the new collaboration art, and visitors will be able to receive a free promotional postcard.

Fans who show the staff proof that they have pre-ordered Sonic Racing Cross Worlds will also receive a free, exclusive acrylic stand.

The Magical Mirai 2025 event in Tokyo is scheduled to begin on Friday, the 29th of August, 2025.
