Shovel Knight Dig PS5 and Switch Physical Editions Confirmed

Shovel Knight Dig Super Rare Games physical release

The latest game in the Shovel Knight franchise will receive a new physical release in an exciting new announcement for fans of roguelite games

Super Rare Games, a distributor known for its limited-run physical releases, has confirmed it will be distributing a physical edition of “Shovel Knight Dig” for both the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch platforms.

The game itself is a collaboration between the franchise’s creators, Yacht Club Games, and Nitrome.

Unlike the classic 2D platforming of the original, “Shovel Knight Dig” challenges players with a subterranean adventure where they must tunnel rapidly downwards through an ever-changing series of stages.

The title expertly blends the series’ signature tight controls and charm with the high-stakes replayability inherent to the roguelite genre.

This specific physical console release is being made available in extremely limited quantities, a standard practice for specialty distributors targeting collectors.

Enthusiasts interested in owning a physical copy will need to act swiftly. Only 2,500 standard edition units will be produced for the PlayStation 5, and just 4,000 standard edition units will be available for the Switch.

Orders will open exclusively through the Super Rare Games website on January 8 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time, which corresponds to 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
