Shibuya Art Festival 2025 2

The 17th annual Shibuya Art Festival has announced a major collaboration with the popular TV anime series “Gachiakuta.”

The festival, which runs from Friday, October 24th, to Sunday, November 2nd, 2025, will transform the public spaces around Shibuya Station into a vibrant art park under the theme “SHIBUYA ART SCRAMBLE.”

The Shibuya Art Festival was originally launched to commemorate the permanent installation of Taro Okamoto’s masterpiece mural, “The Myth of Tomorrow,” in Shibuya Station.

It treats the entire district as a gallery, seeking to explore the relationship between the city and art.

“Gachiakuta,” written by Kei Urana with graffiti design by Hideyoshi Ando, is a battle-action manga serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine.

The story follows Rudo, an orphan from a slum inhabited by the descendants of criminals.

The anime adaptation, produced by the studio Bones, began airing in July 2025.

The special collaboration, titled “GACHIAKUTA ART PARK,” will run from October 27th to November 2nd and aims to merge the world of the hit anime with the creative energy of Shibuya.

A new key visual has been released for the event, depicting the anime’s main characters—Rudo, Enjin, Zanka, and Ryou—walking across the famous Shibuya Scramble Crossing.

The collaboration will feature several key components for fans to enjoy:

  • GACHIAKUTA ART PARK

Located in Shibuya’s Kitaya Park, this special area will feature artwork made from scrap and waste materials, directly inspired by the world and themes of the “Gachiakuta” series.

  • SHIBUYA ART MAP Collaboration

An original art map will be distributed during the festival, guiding visitors to the various program locations.

The map will feature the “Gachiakuta” characters, inviting fans to explore Shibuya’s art spots alongside them.

Distribution is scheduled from October 24th and will be available at festival venues and tourist information centers while supplies last.
