SEGA announces Initial D and Yakuza Kiwami collaboration event

SEGA has announced a new collaboration event for its popular arcade racing title, Initial D The Arcade.
The new in-game event will be a crossover with another of the company’s iconic franchises, Yakuza Kiwami.

This partnership brings the gritty, urban world of the criminal underworld from the Yakuza series to the high-speed mountain pass racing of Initial D.
The collaboration will feature a wide range of in-game customization items based on the characters of Yakuza Kiwami, Kazuma Kiryu, and his rival Goro Majima.

Players will be able to acquire these items through a “Play Stamp” event, where they can earn stamps by playing the game, which can then be redeemed for the exclusive goods.

The new items include themed designs for the in-game user interface, such as a custom meter and a special “aura” effect for the player’s car.

Other customization options include vinyl stickers for decorating the cars and a variety of chat stamps for online communication.

Players will also be able to unlock special avatar parts to dress up their in-game driver.

The Play Stamp event will be split into two parts, each focused on one of the two characters.
The first part, centered on Kazuma Kiryu, will begin on Thursday, the 31st of July, 2025.

The second part, which will feature items based on Goro Majima, is scheduled to start one week later on Thursday, the 7th of August, 2025.

Both stamp campaigns will run for an extended period, concluding on Wednesday, the 3rd of December, 2025.
During the overlapping period, players will be able to choose which of the two stamp sheets they wish to progress on.
A special promotional video for the collaboration has also been released, showcasing the new items in action:
