Second Pre-Order Wave Opens for the RG Gundam Astray Red Dragon

Bandai Hobby has announced a second production wave for a highly sought-after model kit based on the “Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny Astray R” manga.
The “RG 1/144 Gundam Astray Red Dragon” is returning to give builders another chance to secure the heavily modified machine.

“Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny Astray R” is a popular spin-off story that expands upon the Cosmic Era timeline.

The series follows the eccentric junk dealer Lowe Guele as he constantly upgrades his signature mobile suit with newly engineered equipment.

The Real Grade line delivers an incredibly detailed 1/144 scale building experience, utilizing a sophisticated inner frame to support complex exterior armor.

This kit features newly molded parts to accurately recreate the distinct Ddraig Head and the specialized Flight Unit mounted on the back.

A major focal point of this release is the inclusion of three highly versatile Caletvwlch weapons.

These intricate tools can transform into various configurations, including a dynamic Cannon Mode that takes advantage of the model’s wide articulation range.

Builders can detach the Build Cutter and Build Knife components for close-quarters combat, or combine them into twin swords.

Using the included connecting joints, two of the Caletvwlchs can be linked to form a massive Ambidextrous Halberd.

A Real Grade-exclusive gimmick also allows three blades to be merged into a completely original weapon configuration.

Alongside these new armaments, the suit retains its standard gear, including the signature Gerbera Straight katana, a beam rifle, beam sabers, and a shield.

The kit is rounded out with a freshly designed set of realistic decals, a dedicated display base to support the heavy backpack, a head beam effect, and a miniature figure of pilot Lowe Guele.

The “RG 1/144 Gundam Astray Red Dragon” is priced at $59.00 USD, and the pre-order window is scheduled to close on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 2:59 AM EDT.

Reservations for this second release wave are currently available exclusively through the Premium Bandai US online store.
The model kit is expected to begin shipping to builders in July 2026.
