Roppongi Hills iconic Keyakizaka Illumination announces dates for 2025

One of Tokyo’s most celebrated winter traditions, the Keyakizaka Illumination, is set to return to Roppongi Hills, officially kicking off the holiday season from Tuesday, November 4th, and running until Christmas Day, December 25th.
The stunning display is the main attraction of the wider “Roppongi Hills Christmas 2025” event.
For over two decades, the lighting of the 400-meter-long Keyakizaka street has signaled the start of winter in the city.
This year, approximately 930,000 LEDs will once again create a magical winter landscape with the theme “SNOW & BLUE,” bathing the tree-lined avenue in a fantastic silvery glow.
The illumination is a renowned photo destination, offering spectacular views from both ends of the street.
Organizers suggest that the best spots for capturing the entire panorama, often with the iconic Tokyo Tower in the background, are near the Emporio Armani store and the Roppongi Tsutaya Books.
In line with a long-standing commitment to sustainability, the display has exclusively used power-efficient LEDs since its inception in 2003 and is powered by certified clean energy.
While the Keyakizaka Illumination is the centerpiece, the broader “Roppongi Hills Christmas” celebration offers more to complete the festive experience.
The nearby 66 Plaza will host its colourful “Luminous Bouquet” display, and from November 22nd, the O-Yane Plaza will come alive with the sights and smells of a traditional German Christmas Market for the Roppongi Hills Christmas Market, which is now in its 19th year.
Together, these events make Roppongi Hills a premier destination for soaking in the holiday spirit.
