Pre-Orders Open for New Transformers x Evangelion Collab Figure

Takara Tomy has officially opened pre-orders for its latest crossover project under the SYNERGENEX brand, the “Transformers Evangelion Prime Unit-01”.
This release marks a high-profile collaboration between the Transformers and Evangelion franchises, reimagining the Autobot leader Optimus Prime with the aesthetic characteristics and weaponry associated with the EVA-01 unit.

The figure is based on a retool of the “Legendary Optimus Prime” mold and features a dual-mode transformation mechanism.

In its vehicle mode, the figure converts into a container truck featuring a purple and green color scheme inspired by Evangelion Unit-01.

The robot mode incorporates several series-specific details, including a chest panel that opens to reveal a removable “Matrix” core and a head sculpt that can be switched between a standard masked state and an unmasked “berserk” mode with an articulated mouth.

A notable aspect of this collaboration is the inclusion of the Cassius Axe, a weapon unique to this crossover.

The design is a hybrid of the “Spear of Cassius” from the Rebuild of Evangelion films and Optimus Prime’s traditional “Energy Axe.”

In addition to this new armament, the set includes standard-issue weapons such as two Progressive Energy Knives and an Ion Gatling Blaster.

All accessories can be mounted on the figure’s back using a dedicated attachment unit when not in use.

The SYNERGENEX Transformers Evangelion Prime Unit-01 is priced at 11,000 yen (approx. $72 USD / £52 GBP).

Reservations are being accepted through the official Takara Tomy Mall store and participating retailers, including HobbyLink Japan, until March 11, 2026.

Following the conclusion of the reservation window in March, the product is scheduled for a late August 2026 release.
