Pre-Orders Open as High-End Ghost in the Shell Motoko and Tachikoma Statue Unveiled by Prime 1 Studio
Prime 1 Studio has officially opened pre-orders for a beautiful new statue based on the classic anime series Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.
The new “Motoko Kusanagi and Tachikoma 1/4 Scale Statue” is the inaugural release in the company’s new premium “The Legend of Beauty and Beast” line.
Originally airing in 2002, the acclaimed show expanded the influential cyberpunk universe by depicting the exploits of Major Motoko Kusanagi and Public Security Section 9 as they investigate dangerous cybercrime and terrorism.
This new line incorporates the series’ unforgettable sci-fi elements and the traits of its most popular character into gorgeous display pieces based on the work of concept artist Entei Ryu.
Ryu is widely known for their concept art across video games and movies, and their highly sought-after garage kit designs have now been transformed into incredible high-end collectibles.
Prime 1 Studio is offering the piece in two different color variations to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the anime’s production.
The “Standard Color” version features a carefully adjusted sepia tone that highlights the details of the original illustration, while the “Character Color” variation is meticulously painted to imagine how Entei Ryu would have matched the vibrant palette of the animated series.
Standing at a massive 53cm tall, 59cm wide, and 56cm deep, the 1/4 scale statue of Motoko Kusanagi and Tachikoma captures an original composition of human and machine seamlessly melting together.
The intricate polystone sculpt features widely sprawling cables, life-like eyes, and highly detailed metallic textures across Motoko’s rifle and the Tachikoma chassis.
Both versions are strictly limited to 350 units worldwide for their respective bonus editions, which include an exclusive A3 art print based on the original concept art.
20 randomly selected buyers of either bonus edition will receive a print signed directly by artist Entei Ryu.
Both color variants of Prime 1 Studio’s new “The Legend of Beauty and Beast: Motoko Kusanagi and Tachikoma 1/4 Scale Statue Bonus Edition” weighs approximately 19.6 kg and is priced at 296,890 yen (approx. $1930 USD / £1540 GBP) each.
Pre-orders began on May 1, 2026, via the official Prime 1 Studio online store and the statues currently are scheduled to begin shipping between July 2027 and October 2027.
