Pre-orders now open for the ultimate Evangelion Unit-02 statue

Prime 1 Studio, a manufacturer of high-end collectible statues, has officially opened pre-orders for its latest Evangelion statue.
The “Ultimate Diorama Masterline ‘Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time’ General-Purpose Humanoid Decisive Battle Weapon Android Evangelion Official Practical Type Unit-02 (Concept By Josh Nizzi) DX Bonus Edition” brings a bold new interpretation of Evangelion Unit-02 to life.

Evangelion Unit-02, piloted by the fiery Asuka Shikinami Langley, is one of the most iconic mechs from the “Neon Genesis Evangelion” franchise.

This particular statue is inspired by Unit-02’s appearance in the “Rebuild of Evangelion” film series, specifically “Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo” (also known as “Evangelion: 3.33”).

In this film, Unit-02 undergoes significant modifications and is seen in a number of intense combat scenarios, often showing wear and tear.

The “Rebuild of Evangelion” film series reimagines the original anime series with updated animation, new plotlines, and redesigned Evangelion units and Angels.

Josh Nizzi, the Hollywood mechanical designer behind the figure’s concept, is celebrated for his work on numerous blockbuster films.

His portfolio includes contributions to the “Transformers” film series, various Marvel Cinematic Universe films, and other action-heavy franchises like “Battleship”.

His previous work with Prime 1 Studio on Evangelion statues has included a life-size bust of Evangelion Unit-01.

The figure’s aesthetic incorporates a vibrant red color scheme, reminiscent of the anime’s vivid tones, but combined with the dull luster of heavy machinery, emphasizing a sense of realism and battle-readiness.

LED lights are integrated into the four eyes and chest, which further highlight the mechanical details and add to the overall visual impact of the statue.

In terms of accessories and features, key highlights include:
- A jet pack equipped with LED lights to simulate thrusting jets.

- A cutter-type Progressive Knife with weathering and aging on the blade.

- A Thunder Spear with its deployed electric components accurately rendered.

The “DX Bonus Edition” offers an exclusive additional head part with a different design, notably without the small horns on the front, allowing collectors to display Unit-02 with an alternative appearance.

The statue itself is substantial, standing approximately 73 cm (28.7 inches) tall, with a width of 38 cm (15 inches) and a depth of 36 cm (14.2 inches).

When the Thunder Spear is deployed and the jet pack is equipped, its dimensions adjust slightly to 66 cm (26 inches) height, 39 cm (15.4 inches) width, and 41 cm (16.1 inches) depth.

Weighing a hefty 17.3 kg (38.1 lbs), the piece is constructed primarily from polystone, a durable material commonly used for high-end statues, with some parts utilizing other materials for intricate details.

The full list of accessories the statue comes with is as follows: the standard head (with horns), interchangeable shoulder parts (jet pack, pylon), multiple right and left arm options for various weapon poses (including storage and deployment of the Thunder Spear), a pallet rifle, progressive knife, a specialized display base, and LED lighting features for the eyes, chest, and jet nozzle.

This “Ultimate Diorama Masterline” statue is a limited edition, with only 500 units available worldwide.
It is priced at 267,190 yen (approx. $1,849 USD / £1,354 GBP).
The high price reflects the statue’s immense size, intricate detail, and limited production run.

The estimated release window for this premium collectible is between October 2026 and January 2027.

Pre-orders are currently being accepted on Prime 1 Studio’s official online store, and the product will also be available through the EVANGELION STORE, the official merchandise outlet for the franchise.
